Friday fun

Annie was in the neighborhood Friday, after happy hour we stopped at Wholefoods to pick up ingredients to make granola. I have been craving fresh coconut for a really long time so when I saw these guys I got excited. The nice guy at Wholefoods was kind enough to cut the top off for me that that it might be easier for me to cut it open when I got home. We decided to stick a straw right through it and boy, oh boy was that coconut water (milk?) dericious!! I don't like the coconut water that they sell in the cartons but this was so good!!

Yes, it was a Friday night and we came home to make granola, wrestle a coconut and have dessert :)

I guess you really can just throw in what ever you like in the mix. I had rolled oats, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and coconut chips. I reduced the amount of maple syrup and brown sugar that the recipe by half called for and added a splash of honey.

We mixed up the goods and popped it in the oven mixing every 15 minutes. While that was cookin' we were trying to crack open this coconut to get to the meat!

It was quite dangerous and took 5 knives, a spoon and a hammer. We even watched stupid youtube videos that did not help. I found that the best technique was just whacking the crap out of it with the back end of the hammer :) 2 swings and we were able to pry it open

By the time we got it open and enjoyed the rest of the water and meat our granola was done. Nice and toasty!

Birthday Month!!

Today marks the first of the month which means..... its my birthday month and I will be turning 26 in 25 days!! woooohoooooo

I usually have a long wishlist here but now Pinterest is where you can find everything I could ever want.

There are a few things that I really would like to do for my birthday this year.

1. Go watch Jabbawockeez at the Monte Carlo

2. I would LOVE to go to the Ellen show. Hi Ellen Degeneras, if you happen to come across my blog, I loooooooove you and your show!! I record your show everyday, watch after work and laugh out loud by myself all the time, especially today :)

Can I please be on your show because I would be one of those wonderful people dancing before the show or in between breaks and you would love it? Thanks!

3. I really do want to have a party...cant think of where yet, maybe even an afternoon brunch would work. All suggestions are welcome :)

I got this beautiful blue dress a long time ago and never really had anywhere to wear it to. Nick and Natalie's wedding was at the Intercontinental Hotel & Resort in Monterey and thought the dress would be perfect for this beachfront occasion. Twas a perfect Christmas

When people ask me, "How was your Christmas?" I say "PERFECT" and they all ask why perfect??!!

What isn't perfect about the real celebration of Christmas, good company, endless amounts of food, basketball game, watching movies, giving gifts and receiving them AND on top of that purchasing a car!!! Now I call that a pretty darn perfect Christmas.

Christmas is always a joyous time but this year I really had so much fun. My mom and I stayed up late Christmas eve wrapping gifts and my mom who is the worst at keeping secrets managed to buy some pretty awesome gifts and keep it all a secret. She waited till I went to bed to wrap mine.

This year I really wanted to get everyone really nice gifts to repay them for everything they did for me after my accident.

Being on a tight budget made it very hard but I did my best. A few days before Christmas I asked my middle sister what she wanted and she said she wanted bowls from Anthro. I told her I hadn't done any of my shopping yet and wasn't getting paid till Christmas Eve Eve and thats when I would do all my shopping. She told me all she wanted was a heart-felt card.

Sooooooooooo....

a heart-FELT card is what she got ( and her bowls too, of course). I made a heart out of felt and you pull the tab and rolled out the card.

I also made a little envelope to spice up a boring gift card

All of my gifts were wrapped in Trader Joe bags. Its $Free.99

If anyone was worried, I am alive :)

I have been busy catching up with work and finishing school while trying to fit in doctor's appointments here and there and trying to buy a car!! (p.s buying a car is so stressful and I am ready to just buy a bus pass)

You might have already read on my sister's blog that we went on a little family field trip. We picked up some hot coffee and tea and headed to Sleepy hollow. These houses were awesome. There were people walking around, kids poking their head out of sunroofs and riding in the back of trucks ( I was probably the oldest kid sitting in the back of a car), people playing music and having parties. It was one huge block party with fancy lights.

I kid, I kid..can you imagine my mom or either of my sisters sitting back here?? negativezz so I "volunteered". oh the joys of being the youngest.

Call me crazy but I did all of my Christmas shopping last night, yes I was brave enough to go shoppingz on Christmas Eve Eve. I had a lists of everyone's name, stores and items and I was on a mission. I am zee world's greatest speed shopper. Now, I am sitting here with a huge mess of brown paper, paper scraps, tape, felt, and yarn. I feel like an elf in Santa's factory wrapping gifts.

THANKFUL

Getting into this car accident really has been a blessing. Yes, it was scary. Yes, I am in pain(but it has gotten sooooo much better). Yes, I was extremely uncomfortable and tired, but really tested my patience, allowed me to spend quality time with my family and realized how blessed I really am. I am so grateful for the little things like:

- Being able to drive anywhere and whenever I want

- Being able to get in and out of bed

- my health

- the ability to laugh, cough or sneeze without feeling like a 300 pound man just hit me in the chest with a 2x4 (p.s it is really hard not to laugh in our house. I've laughed and cried through the pain)

- the ability to get dressed/undressed and fitting in clothes my size

- putting toothpaste on my toothbrush

- doing my hair

- sleeping past 4AM

- buckling my own seat belt

- being able to type

- the ability to hold my cell phone to my ear/ texting with 2 thumbs

-shampooing the top of my head
-being able to look to the right

I spent 2 weeks at home recovering and really am so thankful for my family who was at my beckon call 24/7. For real. I don't know how else to say thank you.

My mom prepared breakfast/lunch/dinner took me to doctors' appointments, would check up on my multiple times through out the night to make sure I was alive and okay, helped me out of bed at 5AM so I could go to the bathroom, cleaned up after me, drew me bubble baths, brushed my hair, blow dried my splint after it got wet in the shower, waking up for morning prayer...just to name a few amazing things she did.

My dad calling me every few seconds to see how I was doing, sneaking me a few bucks here and there before I'd leave for a doctors appointment, rushing home the second I said i wanted sushi, running to get dessert when i requested it.

My brother-in-law who so kindly let me borrow his flannels because none of my normal clothes would fit my huge bionic arm, buckled my seatbelt, took me to doctors' appointments, sent me a billion texts every other minute the first time I was left home alone to make sure I was okay, saved us from getting in another accident on the rainy Sunday

My sister who rushed over at 6am to help me up out of bed to pee(she came faster than the amberance, no lie), having movie marathons with me, waking up at the crack of dawn during her week off to be my chauffeur, typed my paper for me, would re-do my hair after my mom would do it

My oldest sister who took me out of the house, drove me around and dealing with stupid paperwork that seems endless.

My brother-in-law who I can talk football with and his mom who sent very nice messages.

These very busy busy people dropped everything for me. Everyone had to cancel prior engagements, change plans, ask me before making any new plans to make sure I didn't have a doctor's appointment or made sure someone was "babysitting" me. I am sure they all wanted to shoot me or strangle me, but they didn't because they felt a little bad that I was immobile with only one partially functioning arm. I was a very dependent piece of crap :) I know everyone was exhausted including me but I really had a blast and love them to death.

I am back at my own place now and go back to work tomorrow. I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T do you know what that means? Sorry, that song just popped into my head and far from being independent. I couldn't even put my pillowcase on. Anyways, back to what we were discussing, I am a little anxious to go back to work but miss my little clients so much.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! My life has become a little crazy after my last post but IM BACK! I had a littttle accident, ok not so little that resulted in the loss of my Buglsey and a hospital visit, a few broken bones here and there, bumps, bruises, and scrapes, a perforated ear drum, major vertigo...but we'll save that for its own post :) Needless to say, I am very very thankful that I'm alive, I really could have died, not to be dramatic or anything but its the troof.

Work has really picked up and just wanted to update the world on some exciting news.

My 5 year old client, R is no longer in diapers!!! Working on potty training now but has been in big boys briefs with only a few minor accidents for a couple weeks now. Never knew I could be so excited about someone urinating but I was almost in tears, no. joke. "Potty" breaks were the most dreaded part of sessions so a part of me is relieved that we no longer have to wrestle for half an hour for him to just stand in front of the toilet for 10 seconds, but besides selfish reason, I really am so proud of him and happy now that he's learned how much easier his life is and great grammy's especially who was changing the diapers for the 5 years. He has also gotten so good at requesting with 3-5 more words and a drastic decrease in physical aggression.

The smallest progress is a big deal.

Being a Behavioral Interventionist for ACES has been great so far and I really am learning something new everyday from coworkers, teachers/aides, clients and the families I work with.

Sandwiches and bbq chicken :)

I have not been snapping photos or crafting very much these days but I do eat ALL the time.

If you don't already know, I love sandwiches, no joke.

I recently have become obsessed with these sandwich thins- tasty and only 100 calories!!

Sammich time.

I usually like fully-loaded sandwiches but this is all I had left in my fridge but was still delicious!

green leaf lettuce. muenster cheese, home grown avocado, chicken deli meat, alfalfa sprouts and spicy mustard.

I provide in-school therapy and being in a school cafeteria during lunch 3 times a week makes me miss cafeteria food. Yes I like the soggy, short-noodled cafeteria spaghetti that they scoop with an ice cream scoop, and rubbery cafeteria eggs. The other day the cafeteria served up some bbq chicken and I had major lunch-envy. So that night for dinner I made some moist bbq chicken in the oven since I never moved my grill. Sooo good! Had to have ranch on my salad like the little kiddos did too :)

After my omelette the other day, I was on a breakfast kick. So I decided to have a breakfast feast on Sunday.

I get excited for Saturdays...duh its the weekend, but am especially excited when I don't have to work because that means I have time to lay in bed since I am now old (according to my oldest sister) and my internal clock will not let me sleep past 8:30..then mosey downstairs to whip up a tasty breakfast. I wake up hungry, even during the week I will make something quick or grab a yogurt for the car ride. Sometime I wake up because I am hungry. Yes. I am a pig.

Today's omelette was just a hodge-podge of whatever I had in my fridge but oh boy was it delish!

3 egg-whites was just enough

First I put a generous layer of a 4 cheese blend, then laid down the saute'ed goodness, then added a layer of string cheese (mozzarella) -i love cheeseeee- then closed it up!

NO browning, NO holes or tear in the egg..just goodness topped with avocado

S'more cookies

I consider myself a good cook..but baking is definitely not my forte. Smore cookies have been all over pinterests these days and I had a sudden urge to have some sweets. I usually leave the baking to my sister but don't live down the street from her anymore. I don't think you can even really count this as baking because all I did was use pre-made cookie dough.

To be honest I did not read any of the recipes or directions on pinterest, figured it was self explanatory- chocolate chip cookie s'mores.

I had some pretty big mounts of dough and was anticipation chocolate covered smores but instead ended up with chocolate chip cookies the size of my head with a smore right in the middle of it.

after that batch..I tried down sizing and just placed mini smores on top of the dough

...and this is why I don't bake. Although they didn't look the way I expected they sure were delicious and left me wanting S'more. (sorry i just had to)

Sunday morning start off bright and early...well just early. Alarm went off at 5:45am. John, Matt and I got ready with our Pb&J's and headed for the Long Beach Marathon

2nd half marathon of the year and struggled with this one. But all that matters is that I finished...finished in pain but crossed the finish line. we'll see if I can even get out of bed in the morning.

I have some pretty awesome brother-in-laws...or is ti brothers-in-law?

John even stopped and walked with me when my feet felt like they were on fire, and when I got a weird ankle cramp and offered to carry me if i needed :) Isn't he nice?! He's been training for months and could have killed it but being the nice bro-in-law that he is we crossed the finish line togezer.

The weekends have been a nice breathe of fresh air. This weekend was spent at my parents' house in gardena and in LA.

Saturday night Jennifer and I decided to mosie-on over to Bar Lubitsch. It was a nice change of scenery. Jennifer requested we have brunch at Huckleberry after reading my sister's post. It was such a cute little cafe and derishious!

I've had a whirlwind of emotions the past week or so. I admit I am a sensi but it is about that time of the month too which makes it ten times worse :/ t.m.i? mi mal. :) I haven't gotten good sleep in awhile and feel like the stress of school now starting, starting applications...or should I say figuring out where to begin, having to find a new place to live by the end of this month has all taken a toll on me. I usually am all smiles but feel like I haven't been able to talk about my bad days or vent and have been bottling it up and it all caught up with me. I am pretty sure if you had to deal with me at in the last week i probably wasn't a very nice person and have been constantly reminded that I need to be more forgiving, more patient, more independent, and more understanding of others. I will work on being a better person this week.

on a side note: Jennifer ordered enough chinese food for a family of 5 all for herself. Im not joking, they put about 10 extra forks in the box. We munched on dericious greasy chinese food, watched Entourage and talked about boys and drank wine out of huge cups. <3

awkward and stupid

Randomly came across this here and thought of my clients right away!! :)

This week I have come across some really stupid people. ok thats mean...maybe they are just really awkward and always say the wrong thing?

Situation #1:

Tuesday morning, first day of chemistry lab.

This lady who looks about 30, wearing a polka dot tube top dress and weird really tall, strappy wedges walks into class 45 minutes late while our professor is talking about...something useless. Side note: who the heck dresses like that to a chem lab at 9am....or ever??!Clearly, the teacher has already taken roll, 3 times, for that matter because its the first day of class and there were lots of students trying to add. So all eyes are on this lady, who I'm not sure is pregos or just had a belly :/ and the professor asks, "whats your name?" she's frantically looking at her iphone in hand and says rodriguez...(i forgot her first name so lets just say its Ellen)..Ellen Rodriguez. Professors says...i dont have a Rodriguez on my roster, are you sure you are registered for this class. She says, "I'm pretty sure im registered, that what it says here(pointing to her phone). Well...ok" and walks out of the class. We watch a borrrrrrrrrring safety video from the 80's...an actual VHS..and 15 minutes later, this lady comes back in....

Lady: is there an arturo on your roster by any chance?

Professor: yes I have an Arturo, Ellen.

Lady: OH, thats me! I got married and I forgot!

WOW.

Situation #2:

Went to the 24 that is in the University Center tonight. In the same plaza is a Trader Joe's, so I walked over there after my workout to pick up some eggs and random groceries. Mind you, my shirt is soaking wet( I sweat alot ok!) Im as red as a tomato and probably smell like crap. Im standing in front of a shelf full of protein bars with my back against the cash registers trying to decide if i want the blueberry tart cliffbars or the lemon luna bars. A cashier walks up to me and says "Ma'am, are you ready?" gesturing me to the register :/ ummm sure i guess I am now. I figured that was my cue to get the hell out because they were closing? Im pretty sure he was just trying to have small talk but without even letting me finish my sentence he goes "did you just come from the gym...you're all red"

I really almost wanted to say no, this is what i naturally look like.

I was already feeling drained. God knew I needed a little break and that morning my client's mom canceled session. Just what I needed...time to sleep in, lay out, run errands that I've been putting off.

Its been a little over a month since I've been with my first client. R is a 5 year old boy that lives with his great-grandmother. yes, you read that right, not his grandmother...his GREAT-grandmother. R really is a sweetheart and most of his behaviors stem from attention-seeking. He lives with an old lady who can barely move and no male figure in his life and they wonder why he acts ups??! R is a handful and our sessions are only 2 1/2 hours but I am so pooped when I walk out of that house. His major behaviors that we are working on are elopement, property destruction and most recently, physical aggression. I got slapped by a 5 year old boy today, awesome. He just needs some lovin' and I try to teach him basic life skills along the way, such as keeping his pants at his ankles when going to the restroom, instead of pulling them completely off and throwing them because that would not fly in a public restroom :/ or training him to request/deny something using 3 or more words.

My next client M, will be starting the 3rd grade and is diagnosed with Autism. He really is a silly kid, loves to tickle and tell jokes, obsessed with insects and amphibians. He can tell you every fact about every kind of scorpion..its pretty amazing. M has trouble excepting consequences and "no" and gets very emotional. More times than not he will cry even if you say w-o-r-k. They have a grey pet cat named Ash that likes to roam into his room. I am not a cat person, actually kind of afraid of them but M loves him and always says "awww isn't isn't isn't isn't he just soooo cute". yes, he stutters :)

Finally picked up a school case...HALLELUJAH! Although my position was advertised as a full-time position, I realized how hard it is to pick up clients, especially the last couple months since kids aren't in school. I've talked to other B.I's who have been with the company for years and still aren't full time. By the grace of God I have been offered my 4th client but had to turn it down due to my school schedule. I am bummed because I could have used that money but working over 31 hours/week with ACES while still at UCI and taking my last load of classes for nursing school would have killed me.

In conclusion, being a Behavior Interventionist is HARD work! Learning all this Insurance lingo and paperwork that has to errorless has been UBER stressful. but at the end of the day I am very thankful that I still have a j-o-b...2 for that matter. Praise God.

School starts tomorrow and applications nursing school has begun!!

Annie and I went to help Jeanne move into Northwestern. We we're younger then and none of us really knew our way around. Now that we are older and Jeanne was my personal tour guide, it was that much more fun!!

Damen st. byob- old Milwaukee beer. rained out cubs game, toe-touching all over wrigleyville, rainboots. the "L". attempting to jetski everyday, catch-phrase, matt winning catchphrase, despicable me and Chinese food delivered at 1:30 AM, Mikey getting abducted in the staircase, The girl and the goat, taking shots of beer, trying to get the dvd to work, working out in jeanne's living room.

Had some sister time(plus John, he's almost one of us anyway) on Sunday with grams.

Its always a great time with them and I really do feel sorry for people who don't know what life is like without sisters.

Its been 6 months since our grams left us to go to heaven. There has not been a single day that I have not missed her. This weekend Danni and my sister put on Ruby's babyshower for Babycakies #4. Since this is their fourth and most likely last child, they are keeping the sex of the baby a secret. What's it going to be, a boy or a girl???!!! I am dying to know!!

I went to help with the shower but it is always a treat for me to see the Bratcher babies, and to hang out with all the other blogger gurus.

And like always, if you throw a party for Ruby there are bound to be an abundance of cameras. That's the life of a blogger.

Hello Kitty Quillow

I have don't think i've seen my sewing machine since my sister's wedding. I had a rush order for a quillow so i got busy busy busy and had to borrow some extra hands. My dear sister was so kind enough to take time out of her busy schedule of doing nothing to help me :) She did most of the Hello Kitty and it looks great. After hoursssss of sewing and hand-stitching my mama even jumped in to help. it was a family group activity.

This quillow took almost as long as my very first one but is one of my favorites.

Day 1:

Friday afternoon, I hit the road to meet the rest of the clan in La Quinta. This was our very first Kim/Park/Carrier vacation and oh boy, was it a blast!

I hit some Friday traffic and it was a long drive by myself, but I knew I was close when I saw the white spinning things. I remember when I was a little kids being mesmerized by these things.

With the temperature increase, I sure knew I was in the desert.

I arrived at what would be our home for the weekend, a beautiful house right on the PGA West course.

Most of the day...well most of the weekend was spent lounging....

One of the days, the clouds decided to roll in and it was too windy and cold to take the boat out so we went wine tasting in Paso Robles instead. We stopped out Summerwood, Niner, Zin Alley, and Castoro.

Heart Hill at Niner Winery. Isn't it beautiful? The lady said those trees have been there for 100 years. Can you believe a winery with a heart does not hold wedding ceremonies?

We had lots of fun just eating, laying out...

My mother said that bees have been dying in drastic numbers due to the electricity from cell phones. Pshhh and she swear that that is the reason why our plum tree has barely beared any fruit this season because there weren't enough bees to pollinate. I guess others believe it is true too.

Today I got stung by a bee for the first time in my life and oh boy, oh boy did it hurt!!!

Started training for the Long Beach Half this week. I am obsessed with the Nike Training Club App and it has been kicking my butt everyday! I guarantee major sweatage

Mama and I had an adventure on my Monday off.

We checked out Mollywood, a cute landscape and design company in Costa Mesa for some business ideas (stayed tuned for some lovely, must-have products that my Mom and I will be putting out)

After checking out a few spots and doing some drive-by's, we stopped to have lunch at Souplantation and had a little scare...then continued to do some thrifting and oh boy did we hit the jack pot!

Mom really liked those horses. They're new home is now our backyard :)

There are some people in your life that will NEVER change no matter how much you want them to or think think they will.

On the other hand, there are some people that will NEVER change and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Yes a lot has changed since we we're little kids riding the bus home from school. We are older, live in different cities/states and different continents at one point. Now that we are "old" we don't see each other as often as I would like but when we reunite, we start where we left off.

I've been obsessed with taking videos these days more than pictures because i think they are so much more entertaining. Jeanne was home for literally 2 days just for her baby brother's high school graduation. We ended up having dinner and going to Round1. Round1 is a a weird asian version of a Chuck E Cheeses+ D&B+Oak Tree lanes+NRB at the Puente Mall where our parents used to drop us off in herds to "hangout". Oh those were the days.

on a side note...the tip of my nose is burning. You ask, why? the last ingredient I put in my salsa was a big spicy jalepeno, in a rush I merely just rinsed my hands. A few minutes later had an itch on my nose and totally rub my nose with my hot hands! and now my nose is on fire! I guess this is better than my eye being on fire. lesson learned :)

Pre-race Carb OVERload.

My sister and Matt came down the day before and hung out. I gave Matt a tour of UCI since he had never seen the campus, plus its the best school ever! :)

Then we made out way down to the peninsula and because the weather was so nice and it being the weekend, it was packed everywhere! We decided to drop in at Blue Beet for a drink

Then went to The Old Spaghetti Factory for some pasta. Yes, spaghetti factory if my favorite restaurant in the whole wide world.

It was Matt's first time there

Got the usual. Delish!

Ate tons of pasta and bread, went home and finished a final, and made pb&j's for the morning. Went to bed a little after midnight and was awake and ready to at 5am for race day.

I've always liked country music and the oldies growing up and I know my sister was never happy about that because I would always set my stereo alarm on and it would blast country music...I usually slept through it because it was music to my ears but not so much for her. I wish I was at Stagecoach this weekend!! Stagecoach is like Coachella but all countryyy! Here are a few of my favorite right now.

This song is amazing but reminds me of my Grandma's funeral and cannot get through the whole song without crying!!

My very first half marathon is Sunday morning at 6am! I am getting so nervous thinking about running 13.1 miles but im sure when the race is here and my adrenaline kicks in I will be good to go. I would LOVE to see everyone at the finish line to celebrate with me!!

Saturday started bright and early for me. Worked a soccer tournament in the A.M and rushed out to Torrance to shoot Ethan's 1st birthday party. I will save that for the next post.

After hanging out at a 1 year old's birthday party with lots of babies, I was exhausted, but headed home for some yummy food and quality time with the fam.

My dad has 2 speciality dished: Ddakdori tang(spicy chicken soup) and Spicy mexican soup(we call it heart burn soup)

I cannot really handle spicy, compared to my sister who inhales this stuff, so my dad usually makes a small pot of the "not-so-spicy" (I'm his favorite...if you didn't know)

Pops made heart burn soup for din din....and John was his helper :)

My dad said the only way to get all of us (my sister's and I) to be quiet is to feed us. Guess we were a bunch of crazies when we were younger too, I used to get in trouble for breaking out in song at the dinner table. But have you tasted my mother's cooking? its just that delicious!

All 3 of the rings I have in there right now are pretty significant and mean a lot to me. This ring is by far the most valuable thing I own. This ring belonged to my grandma. My sister had it but gave it to me for my birthday. Because my grandma passed away 2 days before my 25th birthday, there wasn't much celebrating but this was the best gift ever! Maybe one day I can pass it along to my granddaughter.

sorry...baaaaaaaack to the "room", I do have the biggest room in the house. :)

the other half of my "room" is not quite finished yet...I'll save that for another post.

Its taken me a while to get it look like this... I haven't had the chance to tackle decorating yet, so what you see up on the walls is just stuff that has been there. im hoping to get some cool beach pics blown up, hang some bunting and makes some cute cushions for my bed and have some freshly picked flowers on my nightstand/dresser :)

I have so much stupid school work to do before I go away for the weekend, but instead I blog --____--

My roomies do not cook very much...or at all. I decided to make the usual tacos for dinner one night and it was a big hit!

I really think I have a tostada-eating-talent. My friends from college would call me the Taco King (now that I think about it..it should be queen, oh well) because the dorm cafeteria would have random taco nights and I would pile it all on and most often then not I would manage to eat it without the tostada snapping in half :)

But really tacos are the best, because you can do so much with leftover. The next morning I had a breakfast burrito...not usually a big fan but since I was the chef, i made it with only things that I like

Delish!

You could have a taco salad, quesadilla, or nachos...the options are endless and scrumptious!

One of by biggest pet peeves is when people wear sunglasses indoors when there is clearly NO sun or blinding lights. The next on my list is when people make plans and flake. I will admit that I am a total creature of habit and in general like to know what my week will entail. I am up for spontaneity but when I have plans I like to stick to the plan! And its the worst when you work you day around it and wait all day, or get really excited about the plans....then it doesn't happen. annoying.

Thats all.

Maybe this is God's way of telling me to just let things go.

School has started again and already had an exam. One thing I appreciate more after moving out of the house is my mama's cooking. There are mornings where I do not have time to cook breakfast. These fruit+cottage cheese duo thingies have become my new favorite and its only 100 calories.

I had breakfast in bed today. I guess its not that great when you have to make the breakfast yourself, but nonetheless, i enjoyed it. Growing up at home, I had the privilege to sleep in those extra 10 minutes instead of having to make breakfast. Most people will or can skip breakfast, but definitely not me. Regardless of if its breakfast, lunch or dinner....i need food or I will get the hangries (hungry+angry)!

It was exciting to be there for Opening Weekend. Too bad they lost horribly, but it was still fun to be there

The game ended right in time for dinner. Even though I probably had one of everything at the stadium since we had the "all-you-can-eat", i was ready to go home and have some of mama's good food.

After a long week of exams I had a long list of errands to run today...but today I really didn't feel like doing anything!! It twas a lazy day. Now I'm home after a long nap, a delicious steak dinner, blogging and watching the korean version of American Idol. Its funny how into this show my mom is :) but I have to say there is some talent on this show and makes me miss old school korean ballads. Yea, i said it.

Ok this post was really suppose to be about our trip to Seaworld and not korean k-pop.

A little over due, but never too late. My aunt and my twin cousin came all the way from Korea for my sister's wedding. They we're only here for 4 days so we didn't get to do much. They have been to Disneyland so we thought we'd switch it up (plus i REALLY wanted to go too)

The Shamu show was awesome. And in the future, you should save this show for last because any show you see after this will be a ding ddong ddeng.

I really was amazed with this show. I haven't been to see world since 1st grade, but I do remember that the trainers used to get in the water and do tricks with them. This time around all the trainers "ask" these ginormous animals to do tricks from outside the water. Boy...they were entertaining and had everyone oooooh-ing and awwwwwwwwww-ing.

John won this Shamu for Haewon...which later provided lots of entertainment for us. In fact, she left Shamu here in Ca. so we could continue to fin slap each other. Yes, fin slapping is exactly what it sounds like- you get to slap someone as hard as you can with Shamu's fin. Ninda unni and I did this in one of the souvenir stores and the cashier thought we were crazy

I miss her.

I have another midterm today and am really anxious, more anxious than I normally am on any other test day. This week has been uber stressful, with 4 test in a row, I haven't been sleeping as much as I should and even got a cold sore!! boooooo! I feel prepared for my test tonight but just have a weird feeling. Exactly a month ago, on a Wednesday I went to my 7pm class like I always do and had a test. Took the test and came home to the news that my Grandma had passed away. I know it sounds weird but I feel like I am anticipating some really bad news? Or maybe its the test in my physiology class that triggers that memory? Anyhoooo... I leave you with a song.

So I have been commuting from home(Gardena) to work(irvine) and school (westminster & garden grove) for the last couple months now. I really didn't mind all the driving because I have made driving anywhere very productice. I record my lectures, load them up to my ipod and listen to them in the car. Nerdy, I know but I can't read and drive so might as well listen and learn :) With the gas prices rising out of control, I put in $57 of gas in my little 12 gallon Bug!!! No thank you. I finally moved to Irvine and most of my driving time has been cut to 15 minutes rather than 45minutes. I can even run to work :) Clearly I cannot afford a luxurious place, so I live in a "corner" :) I have a roof over my head and im 2 miles from UCI, so it works for me. I do not have a bed right now and have been wanting to make a pallet bed. I have been brainstorming but its a little more stressful than I thought. I guess finding a matress is the hardest part right now. Wish I just had some handy person to whip one of these out for me.

Soooooooo... my new roomies and a couple of her friends decided we were going to go out for a green beer on St. Patrick's day after work. We decided to go to Skosh Monahan's a little Irish bar off the 55 freeway. We got there just time to watch the last few minutes of the UCLA vs. MSU game. I had UCLA beating MSU in my bracket so I was excited when they won. This old man and I started talking about college basketball. I told him I'm not a huge college basketball fan but like to fill out a bracket every year because it makes March Madness a little bit more entertaining, and that I prefer the NBA. We talked about the Kings possibly coming to L.A and how I thought that was a dumb idea and probably wouldn't happen for awhile. I told him I was a Lakers fan and have never been to a game, I even put that on my wishlist for my 25th birthday. He said he had season tickets and wouldn't be going to the game this Friday and asked if i wanted to. Of course I answered YES! He gave me his card and said to call him in the morning and that he would save them for me. I was skeptical and told him he was probably lying and wouldn't even remember me in the morning, but that I was going to call anyway. He said he had no reason to lie...then a little while later he says," I actually think I have the tickets in my car, don't move, ill be right back". At this point some of the girls had migrated away from the bar and some were in the restroom. My coworker comes out of the bathroom and tells me they got a seat. I told her that i was waiting for Lakers tickets and that I was not moving...she looked confused-probably thought I was drunk and just said ok, meet us over there. And what do ya know??? He comes back with a stack of 4 tickets and a valet pass!!!!!!!!! He said I want to give the tickets to someone who will use them and you seem really nice so you can have them. When i tell people this story, everyone thinks hes was some creepy old man hoping he'd get something in return, but honestly he was just being nice. He didnt ask for my phone number or anything weird at all. Handed me the tickets and that was it. So I got to sit in the 13th row for my first Laker game for $free.99!!

Feathers Shmeathers

I have feathers in my hair. you heard me...feather extentions. I've had them for a couple weeks now but people have been noticing them alot recently. I love them! I swear its the new trend and if you haven't seen people with feathers in their hair, just wait.

They are real feather and there are a variety of colors. You can wash, dry, straighten or curl them with you hair. Its like an accessory and adds color to your hair and when I don't want them to show they can easily just be covered.

celebrities such as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Steven Tyler have them :)

I think it looks really cute in blonde hair, but don't think I want to die my hair blonde.

I want to buy a bunch of feather and switch up the colors every once in a while. Anyone else wants some feathers in their hair??

MEN in suits

(I wrote this post last night and didn't even press "publish post"...I have lost my mind)

I have a Microbiology test tomorrow morning(which I didn't end up taking because my teacher forgot to make a new test) and my brain is dead. I cannot memorize anymore protozoas, viruses, fungi...so I am doing some stalking instead. Since I no longer have a facebook I stalk fake people, okay not fake people but people I do not know or do not share mutual friends with :) Of course my favorite person to stalk is Daniel Henney and how I missed this cover is beyond me! What a babe.

This cover deserves a post of it's own but he will have to share this space with some other good looking dudes. I am not used to his facial hair but digging the new hair-do and boy can he pull off that suit! Simple black and white and it looks clean.

Am I totally a creepy stalker?? Whatever, Ill be the first to admit it.

I have seen lots of men in suits, especially in the last 2 weeks with my sister's wedding and my grandma's funeral. I really appreciate men in well-fitted, sleek suits.

When I first look at a guy I always notice their hair and their teeth first. People say I am picky but you're lying if you say looks don't matter a littttttle but. I am also really particular about sunglasses, well the style of sunglasses that guys wear... you know? some just don't go with certain head shapes, lenses are too small for their head

Because of where I work, I am in athletic clothes everyday. Everyday the people I am around at work are in track suits, warm-ups, spanks, etc. There are days where I want to get dressed up and get dolled up. I think that is the reason why I like seeing guys dressed up in suits everyonce in awhile too. (maybe I associated guys in suits with guys that have real jobs to wear suits to?) Now, I am really talking crazy

Best wedding EVER!!

there are so many things to blog about and tons of pictures from the wedding but that will have to wait a few days(till I find my camera) but i will leave you with a video. My sister and I are not very good public speakers and we all know I'd cry like a baby up there giving a speech so we wanted to do something different, besides the Kim sisters are never really normal anyway. So we spent 9+ hours painting, sitting down and standing up, cutting and pasting, and taking pictures. And a BIG thank you to Abe who put this all together, you rock!!

The life of a student

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings you will most likely find me at the bean studying. Then I'll walk over to 24 to workout right before work. If you're in the area, come join me!!

I am not a coffee drinker but have been drinking a couple cups a week. My coworker usually makes a pot of coffee daily right before the "3 O'clock hour" as we call it, which it the worst hour of the day and everyone usually hits a wall.

On Tuesday and Thursday nights( I have class in the AM and don't have time for the gym) I have been doing Bikram yoga. I love it but last night seemed to be hotter than ever!!

As for school I already have a midterm next week and know with the wedding and family being in town I wont get anything done so I have been studying studying studying.

There is ALOT of rain in the forecast for this weekend and the whole week after. Please pray for sunny skies on Saturday!!! 3 more days till i can eat some carbs....oh yea and the wedding :)

Yes, we are all suppose to be on a diet but stuffed our faces at dinner and had to have birthday cake!

Notice the itty-bitty cake..yes a cake made for 2-4 people fed our family of 8 perfectly, but we had to have pralines 'n cream ice cream of course because its my dad's fave.

We had last minute wedding stuff to do, it seems to be never ending. I've decided I will be getting married in Hawaii :)

Today was a Kings of Leon kind of day. Listened to them on my way to the gym, at the gym, at work, on my way to school and on my way home. Alot of songs trigger certain memories for me, distinct memories. Today, this song just took me back to the warm summer night, just being outdoors with thousands of other fans listening to Kings of Leon live and just being mesmerized by their light show. It is now week 2 of school and I am finally getting into the routine but am exhausted. I still need to make time for the gym in the mornings the nights i have class and have been going to Bikram yoga at night after work the days i have class in the morning.

We watched Friends today at work. Best day EVER! Not only was I working on an athlete while reciting direct quotes but all the athletes were quiet and focused on the TV :)

We watched the last disc and the finale still makes me cry every time

I have really been obsessed with this outfit. the whole outfit even the hat and the ring!! I would love to get dressed like this and do something fun..maybe my birthday outfit??

I decided I wanted to read more this year. I walked through Target and just stared at the aisles full of books. Lots of books that looked interesting, sounded interesting, had the best-seller sticker on the front and had no idea which book to buy. I decided on this book because it seemed like an easy read and thought it would be good for my first attempt to actually finish a book, plus 4 year old Colton on the front cover is soo cute.

This post was random..but I guess all my days are always random.

My Super Bowl Sunday started bright and early!!

It was a cold, foggy morning on race day and there were thousands of people!

We got our shirts and our numbers and it was race time

Ready. set. go!!

The boys were nice enough to run a tab bit slower or wait for me

There was enternainment along the way with so many people dress in costume. This banana+monkey group was my favorite. They were actually running the 5k that was before out 10k. They had a boombox blasting "in the jungle"

I ran my very first 10K and my official chip time was 1:02:15and was actually 80th place in my division...I know its no First place but out of thousands I was expecting to be come in around teh 400 hundreds? thats exciting!

I am aiming to do run San Diego's Rock & Roll half marathon!!
